2016.04.28 - First Event of the Season
The few days before the start of the season are always a bit rushed as we do the last things that need to be done before leaving. This evening I am going through the pots and pans and seasoning them. This involves removing the protective coat of oil I put on at the end of the season, putting on a fresh thin coat of oil and putting it item in the oven at the highest temperature for about an hour.
The kitchen box has to be checked for missing utensils and then packed.
The food for the event was delivered as our car was at the garage being mended so online shopping it was. Thank you Tesco.
The meats need to be frozen so that they last until Saturday and Sunday evenings and so the list goes on.
Tomorrow it is almost as bad. The ingredients for the casserole need to be prepared and put in the pots so that as soon as the fires are going tomorrow evening the casserole can start cooking whilst the rest of the camp is set up.
I'll be glad when it's all over!
