The Naiad Voyages

Today has been a very tiring day work-wise so I decided that I would not do too much on Naiad this evening. I sanded off the filler I put on yesterday so that hull is nice and smooth in those areas, sanded some high bit on the inside of the hull and then measured the hull from side to side across the boat and also from side to side around under the boat every foot along the length from the transom to the bow.

I need to start buying paint but how much? Marine paint is expensive so I don’t want to buy too much nor to I want to buy too little either. The measuring exercise should tell me what I need to know.

I used a CAD program on my computer and drew out the measurements and then asked the CAD program to calculate the area for me. It’s 11.5 square metres, more than I thought.

The hull measurements drawn out.
